The numbers are in! And you might want to hold on to your seats for this one. If you thought the YouTube infographic that emerged back in May 2010 was incredible, this one will take the words right out of your mouth.
Pingdom, an Internet monitoring service, has released its 2010 Internet findings last week and here are some interesting facts that I’ve pulled out.
- 107 trillion emails were sent. To save you some trouble, that’s 107,000,000,000,000.
- 89% of those emails were spam.
- 21.4 million websites were added.
- 2 billion videos were watched per day on YouTube.
- 35 hours of video were uploaded to YouTube every minute.
The percentage of spam sent is only a reflection of how the Internet is becoming a dumping ground of useless and sometimes misleading information. So how in the world are we supposed to keep up? Especially with the 35hrs of videos that are uploaded every minute to YouTube! Similar to a treasure hunt, the Internet is a forest where valuable information is hidden away and kikin can be your map, or at least we’ll provide you with a few shortcuts to those buried treasures.
kikin’s YouTube feature allows you to play videos in your search engine of choice, saving you a few seconds that would have taken to redirect to YouTube. More importantly, it’ll save you the time it takes to go back to see the other search results. And considering the fact that average users watch 186 videos each month, those few seconds really add up. kikin will also scan YouTube for relevant videos as you browse the web, bringing you more video and saving you more time.
With all that extra time, maybe you’ll get around to reading all those e-mails that are building up in your inbox.
